No matter who you are, You are welcome here.

What to expect

Our 10am gathering is a chance to come together for worship, learning and fellowship.

Every Sunday service includes worship supported by our wonderful music team. There is always a speaker who shares from the Bible and explaining its relevance to our lives today.

The service lasts approximately an hour and a half and finishes around 11:30am.

You are not required to do anything at the service. Feel free to participate or just sit and listen.

You are more than welcome to join us any Sunday. If you’d like someone to show you around the building, you can let us know you’re coming and we’ll arrange to meet you beforehand. Otherwise, just arrive and our welcoming team will be at the door to show you in.

Our services can look a little different from week to week but regularly include:

  • Worship and singing with our band
  • Church notices
  • A short talk tailored for our children
  • Communion (on some Sundays)
  • A short talk about local or global mission often involving special guests
  • A bible based talk from our pastors or other speakers (your kids can be looked after during this time, see details below).

Please join us for a coffee and shared morning tea after the service, we would love to chat and get to know you better.

Kid’s ministry

We love our kids and strive to create a fun, engaging environment for them to learn about God. Our dedicated kids’ programs run alongside our 10am service. On your first visit, our welcome team will ensure you have all the information you need for your family.

Children of all ages are welcome in the service or they are welcome to join in with one of our children’s programs. All of our children’s program volunteers have their Working With Children’s Check and have completed mandatory Child Safe training. All children involved in programs must complete a registration form and sign in at the desk when the program begins. If you have any questions please ask one of our children’s program volunteers can be identified by their blue Kid’s Team shirts and photo ID lanyard.

Babies

There is a dedicated are up the back with a baby gate and toys to help make it easier for parents to participate in the service with active and mobile babies. Please do not stress if your children are unsettled or noisy, we love that children are a apart of our community. If you wish to feed a baby more privately there are comfortable couches in both the café and the shalom room (to the left of the main entrance) that you can use. Change facilities are located in the accessible toilet.

Toddlers and Preschoolers

Children who have yet to start school are welcome to join us in creche. There is indoor unstructured play, an outside playground and play space, sandpit, craft, and stories.

Primary School

During the school term primary school aged children are invited to join us on Sundays in J.A.M (years F-2) and Connect (years 3-5).

J.A.M. stands for Jesus And Me and we focus on helping kids know their creator God, know that they are loved by Jesus and know how the story of the Bible relates to them and their lives. We play games, do crafts, sing songs, and read stories.

Connect represents connecting with God, connecting with others, connecting with the church. Years 3-5 are a time where kids start to look beyond themselves and in Connect we help them to be grounded in Christ in community.

Teens/Youth

For kids/teens in year 6 and up we run Activate Youth on fortnightly on Sundays during school terms. We seek to uphold young people’s value, empower them to flourish through intergenerational relational discipleship, encouragement to engage with the wider body of the church though service, proclamation and teaching of the gospel, joyful worship and a deep foundation of prayer.

In Activate we are helping the next generation ACTIVATE their faith and make an impact on the world for God’s kingdom. We encourage service opportunities within the church and within their families and community. We learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus and what it means to be a member of the wider Church.

Young Adults

Young Adults at APBC semi-regularly gather for social and faith formation events. We have games and movies nights, beach trips, etc. Chat to Jaimee or another young adult on a Sunday to get access to the Facebook group!
