  • Contact

Come alone, with your kids, grandkids, or a friend! You don’t need to bring an older or younger person—just an open mind and a desire to connect.

Join an intergenerational book and play group that connects older friends, children (ages 0-6), and caregivers through play and shared experiences.

Playgroups provide a safe and enjoyable space for children, parents, and carers to engage in play-based learning, supporting wellbeing and development. What sets Wisdom and Wonder apart is its unique approach of bringing young children and older adults together for shared reading and playtime, fostering meaningful social interactions.

Intergenerational Playgroups offer opportunities for children to develop skills, parents to build peer support networks, and older adults to enjoy vital community connections. Activities include free play for kids, crafts, reading, and games, along with a chance for adults to enjoy a cuppa and a chat.

Everyone is welcome! Please bring a gold coin donation to help cover consumable costs.

What’s on in term one

In term one we will be making a splash with stories, games, crafts and activities around the water! Some of the books we’ll cover are:

  • Rainbow fish by Marcus Pfister
  • One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss
  • Mister Seahorse by Eric Carle
  • The Boy and the Ocean by Max lucado
  • Jetty Jumping by Andrea Rowe
  • Magic Beach by Allison Lester
  • Sea Country by Auntie Patsy Cameron

Wisdom and Wonder is about creating relationships rather than teaching or preaching. Some books will be Christian (i.e. The Boy and the Ocean), but many will be just good quality picture book stories.
