Mainly Music
What is mainly music?
mainly music is a children’s music program run in community churches across Australia, by teams of volunteers.
The aim of the program is to provide a safe environment for children and their parents/caregivers to learn and interact together alongside other families.
What does mainly music involve?
Throughout the morning, the children gain not only a social experience but a developmental one. The music session is created to develop fine and gross motor skills as well as language, mathematical and reading skills.
The best part of this ministry is having the opportunity to be a part of the lives of various families in the community – watching the children learn and grow, and to see the relationships that develop between all the families.
When is it, and what happens during a session?
Our sessions are held every Wednesday between 10:00 – 11:30am, during school terms. During this time we run a 30 minute music session, followed by a healthy morning tea for the children consisting of fruit, crackers and water. Once the children are finished eating we take them out to our crèche room, and invite you to leave them there whilst you go and enjoy the remaining time having a special home-made morning tea (supplied by a member of the church) and a coffee with the other parents and caregivers.
